Welcome everyone to the Welcome Home Christmas Tour! My blogging buddies and I decided it would be fun to get together and take you on a Christmas tour of our homes.
If you’re anything like I am, you love taking a peek into other people’s homes. Scratch that — it sounds a little stalkerish … but you get my drift.
Christmas is my very favorite holiday, so I like to start early. Usually it’s the day after Thanksgiving, but last year we bumped it up to the weekend before Thanksgiving. This year, since I have totally over committed myself (what else is new), I had to start on a weekend where I had time … which just so happened to be the first weekend of November.
My hubby says that if we continue on at this rate, in a few years we will be starting in September. (I’m OK with that…)
Since I work from home and I’m constantly surrounded by my office, I love having my Christmas decorations up as long as possible. I figure if you go through all of the work of putting it up, you might as well enjoy it as long as you can.
This year, I started with my buffet.
I recently found this great leaded glass window that another vendor had brought into the store where I have my furniture booth (RELove All Things Shabby). I got it home and cleaned it up a bit, and decided that the perfect home for it would be over my buffet.
I brought out some of my my mercury glass and my old balusters.
I then threw in some greenery with some lights and a few ornaments for color.
Usually for Christmas, I bring out my Sugar House Village, and I might later on, but I thought I would change things up a bit. I grabbed my sequin runner that I had on my dinner table last year and laid it across my coffee table.
I then added my distressed birdcage, and I spray painted some pumpkins and gourds that I had for Halloween.
In the middle, I added this great candle holder that I picked-up over the summer at a vintage shop in Kansas City.
Then on the other side I added my apothecary jar. I added some fake snow and put in a battery-operated, light-up tree, and in front of it I have my sweet little nativity scene that I got the day after Christmas last year.
I threw in my two sparkly reindeer and voila!
I’ll have more of my Christmas decor coming up in the next two weeks so stay tuned!

So pretty! Every vignette you’ve created has so much sparkle that has to look so pretty at night when your Christmas tree is on. I love the color palette that you’ve used as well. It shows you that Christmas decor doesn’t have to be only red and green.
