Don't you just love Fall? The cool crisp air, the way the leaves turn beautiful colors, and warm yummy drinks you can enjoy in front of a fire? The only problem here is that even though it's the middle of October, it is still almost 90 degrees! So here we are still wearing flip flops, although the pool is closed people are still laying out, and the poor kids playing football and in the band are about to keel over from heat exhaustion. Here in Kansas, we don't usually get much of a Fall. We ... VIEW POST
Plaster Painted China Hutch
Pink Plaster Painted Vintage Chair
In the past, I would go to yard sales and see amazing upholstered vintage chairs, and I would pass them by. The fabric usually looked worn, and I didn't want to dish out the money to have it reupholstered. Then a few months ago, I tried my hand at painting the actual fabric. It turned out great! So when my mom saw that a neighbor had left this outdated, peach number out on the curb, she scooped it up and brought it home for me to work a little magic on. ... VIEW POST
Easy Wall Art
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Saturday was my little niece's 1st birthday party! I can't believe it's already been a year. She had a lemonade stand party, and her mom did an awesome job! I got totally sidetracked when I got there and forgot to take pictures, so hopefully my sister-in-law took some, and I will share them with you later this week. After we got home from the party, I did some painting on this desk from hell that I have been working on forever, and then ... VIEW POST
Polka-Dot Ceramic Pot Makeover
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! Last week, I went with Topher on a business trip to Washington DC. It was a great trip, and I will be sharing more details on that later in the week. If you want a sneak peak of some pictures head on over to my Instagram account. Since I was gone, I was really behind on my projects, so I spent all day Friday through Sunday painting. The unnamed child and I took Topher out for lunch on Father's Day, and I made a big dinner ... VIEW POST
Easy Summer Burlap Wreath
Welcome to the All Things Home Elements of Summer Tour! All week, 35 bloggers will be bringing their best summer themed projects. I have a linky party down below showcasing their amazing projects! To me, summer screams bright, fun colors. Since I painted my front door a pretty jade green this year, I also have to have something that coordinates with that. So I decided to make a burlap wreath with a bright pink pop of color! You might find this hard to believe, but this is my first ... VIEW POST
Flower Filled 3-D Letters (and an invitation to get buff)
It's Thursday here ... well actually it's Wednesday night, but since I will be up going to yard sales at 6 am on Thursday, I am writing this the night before. If you saw my post from yesterday (actually today -- but yesterday to you), you saw my post on Vintage Chic Wedding Shower ideas. One of my favorites were the flower filled 3-D letters. I picked-up these cardboard letters at Jo-Anns. I think they were around $4 a piece, but I used my 40% off coupons so they weren't too ... VIEW POST
A Break Up Letter (and a vintage secretary makeover)
Dear cold weather- I am sorry to say ... I am ready to break up with you. I can not deal with your wicked ways any longer. I am a summer girl. Shorts. Yard sales. Being able to walk the pups. No school. And the shaved ice place up the street. That's the type of weather I'm looking for. No. That's the type of weather I need. I do not like having to wear a coat just to go to the mailbox, or having to listen to the unnamed child gripe about having to scrape the frost from her windows in the ... VIEW POST
