The countdown to Haven (my blogging conference) is on! I will be leaving Thursday morning at the buttcrack of dawn — or 5:00 AM if you want to get precise.
For the girl that doesn’t usually go to bed until 2 or 3 AM, that means one thing…dark circles.
This week, I have been crossing things off of my list: Hair cut and highlighted … Done. Much needed pedicure … Done. Gift for my roommate (which was incredibly hard since I have never met her in real life) … Done. Last furniture project completed…well…almost done — Topher has to help me get the hardware on it, and then I have to photograph it tonight.
On today’s agenda: spray tan and start packing.
I am pretty excited! After our trip to DC a few weeks ago, my suitcase broke which gave me the perfect excuse to buy a pretty, hot pink luggage set. Topher says it is impractical since he will never be able use it. I told him he should since it will be really easy to spot at the luggage terminal.
He said nope.
One of the other last minute projects I finished was this darling little vintage child’s chair.
My uncle was getting rid of it and wanted to know if I wanted it.
Well we all know how I answer the question “Do you want something for free?”
Heck yeah!
It was a bit banged-up, and its seat was terribly stained.
I dry brushed the body with Ivory Lace Plaster Paint.
I then distressed it and coated it in clear paste wax. I reupholstered the seat in a pretty white and grey fabric that I found at JoAnn’s.
Viola! Good as new, and it would be super cute in a nursery or little girl’s bedroom.
I will be taking this down to my booth before I leave!

That’s adorable. Is the plaster paint thick, or easy to manage? Nice free score!
Shanna says
Thank you Heather! No, it’s only slightly thicker than regular latex. Have you used chalkpaint before? If so you won’t be able to tell a difference between the two in my opinion. Have a great week!
