Hello everyone!
Sorry I was M.I.A. on Monday, but we have been watching my 18-month-old niece the past few days, and as you all know, they are very busy at that age! It was a beautiful day yesterday, so we took her to our fantastic zoo and out to eat. Of course we had to tip our waitress very well because our table looked like a war zone! She has been so good, and we have had fun playing with her.
The unnamed child is on spring break this week, so it’s nice getting to spend some time hanging out with her and stay up late watching movies (by the way St. Vincent and MockingJay, Part 1, are really good).
When I went to pick up a table that I got off of Craigslist a while back, the owner threw in a few extra goodies for free … and this little black shelf was one of them.
I thought it was pretty, but was really scratched up, and with it being black you really couldn’t see the details on it.
I cleaned off all of the filth with just plain old water.
I then painted two coats of Plaster Paint’s Sweet Cream on the outside and their Grey Silk on the inside.
Once it was dry, I then distressed the edges and detail work with a fine grit sanding block.
I then gave it a coating in PP’s Paste Wax, and it looked so much better! I thought it would be sweet in a nursery or little girl’s bedroom.
