Okay everybody, I have found us an easy peasy project.
You probably have all the items in your own home, and it can be completed in less than 15 minutes. My kind of craft!
- Any type of old vase or candle holder big or small, wide or narrow. If you don’t have one at home, any from the dollar tree would work.
- A box of Epsom Salt
- An old paint brush
- A paper plate
- And a bottle of Mod Podge. Glue would probably work too, but just in case I used Mod Podge
Take your salt and pour it on your paper plate (for step two), and then use your paint brush to cover the entire vase with a layer of adhesive/Mod Podge.
Next you can either roll your vase on the plate to coat it; or, I put my arm inside the vase, held it over the plate (while still making a mess, so newspapers underneath your plate might be helpful) and with my other hand I sprinkled on the salt — I found it easier to coat it evenly that way.
I let it sit for 10 minutes, and then I sprayed it with Rustoleum’s Clear Coat to help keep the salt on.
That was it — short and sweet!
With a candle inside it gave off a pretty glow and showed off the frosted look I was shooting for. I think I might do 5 or 6 of these vases in the votive size and line them across my mantle.
If you have any questions about the project, post them in the comment section below.
See you tomorrow for Pinterest Party Friday!
