Remember the turquoise chandelier redo that I did a few weeks ago? It sat around here for weeks and my hubby kept asking when I was going to list it for sale. I just couldn’t decide what I wanted for it and I really just didn’t want to let it go. So I didn’t.
It is now hanging in my kitchen!
It was horrible for poor Topher to get that heavy thing up the ladder and hang it that high, but he was a trooper and did a great job.
I love it.
For everyone who has asked I the color I used was Rustoleum’s Seaside.
Now I just need him to paint my cabinets white and put in a new backsplash that has a little blue in it to tie it all together. He will be so excited to do that! (not). Anyway here are the new pics.

Turquoise Chandelier Makeover
Joy says
It is gorgeous! Reminds me of one I got at GW for $10
And Tuck hung it in the guest room. It is the same color! These are the good memories…when the hubby’s. Go above and beyond! 😀
Catherine says
WOW! That really is beautiful! I have one sitting on the floor in the spare room that could do with such a beautiful makeover!

Wow, what a great makeover! Love it!
Beth H. says
Beautiful!!! Love the color too. I’m assuming it came w/all the crystals and such??? Or did you add those yourself afterward?
Shanna says
Beth- The crystals came with it. My hubby volunteered to take the crystals off for me. I asked him to take a before picture for me since there were so many different sizes of crystals. He forgot. It took me two days to get them back on correctly since there was 7 different sizes!
Tabatha says
Wow! I am now on a mission for an ugly chandelier. Lol
Scribbler says
This is fabulous! I have a question: Where did you find the crystal parts? I have one I am waiting to redo, and I would love to doll it up like this.
Shanna says
This one came with the crystals. I did do one for my daughters room that I needed extra crystals and I think I ordered them from crystals.com. I can’t promise that was the site but I think so.
Suzan says
It turned out just gorgeous!!!
And hawk eye that I am I’m also in love with the little birdcage in the background ( painted the same color I think? )
xox
Shanna says
Good eye Suzan! Yes that is exactly the same color. It used to be black but I wanted it work with the chandelier.
Misty says
So what’s the name of the blue you used? It looks great with the sparkle of the crystals. Love it!
Shanna says
Thanks Misty! I used Tropical Oasis by Valspar.
Donna Wilkes says
Stunning transformation. I would not have let it go either!

Can’t blame you for keeping it!

Hi – found you via Liz Marie blog. I have a project on there as well (mini Mora Clock Re-Do).
I was given a similar chandelier (ugly brass) – and I am revamping it for a client. I am usually very good at primimg and painting anything – I sanded it and I primed it in oil vased primer but there are a fe spots where th paint is still showing through (just little specks but this will be seen mostly from underneath (it’s going in a stairway/hallway – above the stairs)so the specks are showing up on the bottom mostly.
I am going to treat them also with Faux Effects PrimeEtch, which I have had success with before – this etches the surface of anything and allows you to paint right over with no problem.
What else did you use to get the paint to stck?
Thanks…great look, great project!
Linda

Thanks Kim! I wish I could tell you that the kitchen is painted but sadly with all of my custom pieces for clients, I haven’t had time! Maybe next year!

This is perfect. I have a chandelier hanging in my dining room that has been begging to be painted. I love the turquoise but my hubby is not quite as adventurous as I. Do you mind if I link this post to my blog? http://behindthepainteddoor.ca
A says
Do you sell this turquoise chandelier ?
Martha says
Hi Shanna, I’m attempting my own chandelier makeover. Did you have to remove the electrical/socket elements in order to remove the glass?
Beverly says
This might be perfect in the magenta and turquoise,+another color that I haven’t chosen yet, bedroom that I commented about regarding an older dresser you painted red. Though I won’t use the same shade/tone of turquoise. It will be much lighter. After all, it has too work with, not clash the blue “southern porch” ceiling.
