It has been a rainy dreary day here in Kansas. Of course we would finally get rain right when I needed to spray paint some pumpkins. There was a little iffy window of time today where I got it done.
So the last time you saw my mantel, I had just completed my fall stenciled garland, and it looked like this.
I was liking the way it looked, but it still looked a bit bare and needed a little oomph. So I decided to add me some tiny pumpkins to put in the middle. I got these at Dollar Tree.
I taped off their stems with 3-M painters tape, and then I painted half of them ivory and the other half turquoise. So then the mantel looked like this. Better but not quite what I was envisioning. I needed something else by the owls to tie it all in together.
I had two pumpkins that I painted last year that I wasn’t using, so I painted both of them the same turquoise as the little guys. Then I taped them off in a chevron pattern with the 3-M tape. Next I took the Krylon Glitter Blast in Golden Glow that I used on my BeJeweled Jack-O-Lantern and on my Gold Mason Jars, and sprayed the whole pumpkin.
After the paint dried, I removed the tape and here you have it!
