I will be taking-off for the Haven Bloggers Conference in Atlanta on Thursday morning. It has been a hellaciously hot week here in the 100's, and I would like to think I am going somewhere cooler ... but that is probably not the case. My flight leaves at 5 freaking AM, and for someone that has extreme insomnia and doesn't usually go to sleep until 4 am, I'm guessing it means I will be arriving without having gone to sleep. Being from Kansas, I know what humidity is. Atlanta gives a whole ... VIEW POST

Tuesdays With Topher: Housecleaning Your Blog
Good day! Topher here, back for another Tuesdays With Topher. This week, we’re housecleaning. WordPress style!!! A blog is a great thing. How lucky are we, that we live in a time where ideas, talents, and stories can be so easily shared?? If we stop and think about all the cumulative efforts that went in to someone reading a blog post, it’s truly astounding. From the coders who wrote the software, to the factory workers who built the servers it runs on, to the wizards who thought up ... VIEW POST
June in Review
June flew by for me! I constantly felt like I was running behind, and I didn't get much done, but when I look back on my posts for the month ... I guess I did accomplish more than I thought. As far as our personal lives went, we celebrated my mom's BD, our 18th wedding anniversary, babysat for my niece, and spent a few days in Kansas City while Topher had a conference to attend. Next week I will be in Atlanta attending a blogging conference, so I am rushing around trying to get some ... VIEW POST

Hey there! It’s been a little while since I've checked-in, but I'm back, and I have a brand new article! Hopefully, you've read through my previous articles on blogging … and maybe checked out my first YouTube video review (it’s for a lawn mower I'm kind of in love with). If you haven’t looked yet, the links are right here: Something I've tried to weave into my previous blogging posts is a topic that may not be front-of-mind; however, it is an absolute must if ... Red Plaster Painted Vintage Dresser Makeover
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a good 4th! Ours was very low key. We finished our work around the house early, then we worked out, grilled out, and then hung out with the neighbors while watching the fireworks. We have some new neighbors down the street who bought a ton of huge fireworks, so we just sat back and enjoyed. Sunday was hot as the blazes of Hell, so I stayed inside and finished up the project down below. My parents found today's piece at an estate sale at 75% off on the ... VIEW POST

I Built My First Coffee Table!!! (and I still have all my fingers!)
I've got big news people! No, not I've-cured-cancer or I've-figured-out-a-way-to-attain-world-peace news, but in Shanna Land ... this is big news! Topher and I have our defined roles as far as working on projects. I do the pretty stuff, and he does the stuff that could possibly maim you for life. Over the past year, I have been creeping little bits at a time over to Topher's side. Learning how to use a drill, a nail gun, etc. The one place I hadn't ventured over to was using saws. Now ...
