Happy April Fools Day everyone!
I hope you all had a great Easter! Ours was small and simple, just us, my parents and my brother and sister in law. A nice dinner, perfect weather, and a relaxing day. I ate way too much yesterday, and then I burned zero calories by watching my TIVOed Dancing With The Stars and Grey’s Anatomy.
The child that wishes to remain anonymous has cheer tryouts this week, and clinic starts today. Just so you know, I will be a nervous wreck by Friday.
I am back to the gym today, and I am less than excited … but it must be done. I have a blogger’s conference that I will be attending in August, and I am determined to have my body in good shape. That probably means taking some workout classes, and you all know how well I do at those.
I will keep you posted.
Speaking of good shape, this pink polka-dot table is in much better shape than it was when I got it. It was an ugly blonde color, cracked and a little hideous.
I painted the bottom a hot pink, the top black. and then went over it with white for the added polka dots. Super cute for a little girl’s room!
It will be on Craigslist later this week.

Nancy- Have you been to Haven before? This will be my first time and I’m excited but a little nervous. So far I haven’t found a roomate and I will not know a soul. I have no idea what people wear or what to expect. I know it will be fun though! Tryouts will probably be more stressful on me than it is on her I’m sure. Thanks so much for hosting! Have a great weekend!
Nancy @ Artsy Chicks Rule says
First time for me! 🙂 Excited and nervous. I was all set to go it alone but ended up hooking up with a couple girls who I am rooming with. I’m sure there are some others still looking for roommates. Have you checked the Haven Facebook page?
I won’t really know anyone except those I’ve connected with online. Look forward to meeting you in “real life”! 😉
Hope you have a great weekend too
Nancy
Shanna says
I checked the FB page. I have already booked a room, and it seemed that all the people looking for roomies had already booked rooms too. Maybe as it gets closer more people will make posts about it. How long have you been blogging? I’ve been at it for about 7 mos. and I’m really enjoying it. I’m just now starting to “meet” other bloggers and I did my first guest post the other day. I know the way to grow your blog is to connect with others but in the beginning it’s kind of hard. I never want to be pushy and in the beginning it’s hard to know what the etiquette is. I’ve been learning as I go and joining Blogtalk has helped. I’m still having a hard time finding balance in my life keeping up with my furniture business, the blog and running a household. I look at other people’s blog’s where they just show other peoples before and after’s and I think that would have been a much easier way to go lol!

Although its a redundant comment, I love the table as well. Would you mind sharing the paint color and or brand? I always see these great pieces online, especially yours, and fall in love with the color but at the paint stores I never find anything with a pop to it.

You have made some very cute furniture! I am really getting interested in trying to do a dresser or some piece of furniture with milk paint. I may take a class to learn about the ins & outs before I try the real project. I have been looking on Craigs list & at Vintage/Antique stores etc. Haven’t found the right piece of furniture yet to try to upcycle. Any hints or tips on where you find your furniture, which you then turn into something so wonderful? Thanks!!
Shanna says
Hi Laura! I get the majority of my furniture pieces from yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores. I tend to buy a lot during garage sale season and hoard it in my basement and then I can work through it during the winter. Good luck to you!
Shanna says
Thanks Lynaea!
