Blue Rustic Table

Guess what today is? It's Themed Furniture Makeover Day! This month's theme is rustic. Now I upcycle tons of furniture pieces, but I wouldn't say my style is really rustic. I have had a big table that a friend had given me a few years ago, sitting in my basement. I decided to throw a little milkpaint on it and hope for the best. I have worked with milkpaint in the past and had no problems. This time things just weren't going right. On this piece and this piece, I … [Read more...]

French Scripted Ivory Painted End Table

With yard sale season in full swing, and I have been coming up with lots of new furniture pieces to work on. I picked this one up for $8 the other day.  It had a cute shape and other than a few scratches it was in good shape. I painted on a few coats of Plaster Paint in Sweet Cream, and then I stenciled on some French script across the top. I distressed the entire piece and coated it in Plaster Paint's Paste Wax. If you haven't stopped by the Balsam Hill … [Read more...]

Hello my friends! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! We spent ours pulling everything out of my craft room so that I can start painting it. Now this might not seem like a big deal to you guys, but if you had seen that room you would understand why that was a huge ordeal. It is where I stash everything. From furniture, paint, all of my crafting supplies, and most of my staging decor. It was so... out. of. control. So while that room is empty waiting to be painted, all of the … [Read more...]

Today is our Themed Furniture Tour! If you're new to the blog, this is a monthly tour where my blogging buddies and I makeover furniture pieces with a different theme. This month's theme is small tables. I found this table for free at a yard sale last year. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but you know that I can't pass up free, folks. I had it home for a while, and since I had no vision for it, down in the depths of the storage room it went. Since Topher (the hubs) has … [Read more...]

Rustic Pottery Barn Console Table Knockoff

Today is Themed Furniture Day!!! If you're new to the blog, I'm part of a furniture tour where my friends and I choose a different theme each month and come up with our own interpretations. This month's theme was Pottery Barn. Now I love Pottery Barn as much as the next guy, but quite frankly, I am too cheap to pay their prices. I had been wanting to make a console table like the one below for quite awhile. When my brother told me that he had lots of leftover wood from tearing down his … [Read more...]

Vintage Cabinet turned Laundry Hamper

Vintage-Cabinet-Hamper

A few weeks, ago I showed you how my laundry room went from this to this I can't believe how much better the room feels now. The only thing it was lacking was a place to stash the dirty clothes. I didn't want to have big laundry baskets sitting on the floor, and I wasn't able to build shelves or mount a cabinet because if we ever needed to pull out the washer out, the space is too small to work around a large piece of furniture. My parents went to an estate sale the other day … [Read more...]

It's Themed Furniture Thursday!! I always look forward to our monthly furniture group tour. It keeps me on my toes and helps me to remember to step out of my box.  This month's theme is Letters or Numbers. Now I have done a lot of projects that have had letters on them like my  Two Toned Coffee Table, French Stenciled TV Console, and my Parisian Painted Side Table . One thing I have never done is a project with numbers. My mom found these cute little stacking tables at an estate sale … [Read more...]
