I’ve mentioned in my posts earlier this week that I will be teaching a Hometalk/Michael’s Pinterest Party class at the east side Michael’s this Sunday 1-4 pm. The class is totally free — all you need to do is buy your supplies and meet me in the classroom!
There will be multiple projects to choose from, and feel free to put your own spin on it! Two of the projects are my Birds Nest Chalk Banner Wreath and my Flower Topiary. Today’s Burlap Topiary will be another!
Here is what you will need (all of my supplies came from Michael’s):
- A small terracotta pot
- A small styrofoam ball
- Your choice of fabric (I chose one of Michel’s precut burlap)
- A floral block
- Pins (with large heads)
- A dowel rod
- Chalk board stickers
- A package of moss, and
- Your choice of color of paint
First spray paint your pot and your dowel rod. Then cut your floral block in half and glue it to the bottom of your pot.
Next, cut your moss into a circle the same size as the top of your pot. Then lay it on top of your floral block and poke your rod through the middle of your moss and into your floral block.
Cut your fabric into 4-inch squares.
Fold your square diagonally.
Take your bottom corner and fold it over to the other side.
Then take your top corner and fold it back behind and secure your piece with a pin to your ball.
Keep adding your burlap pieces to your ball until the entire ball is covered.
Next insert your ball onto your dowel rod.
Then stick on your chalkboard sticker onto the front of your pot.
Last, tie a bow around your dowel rod and you’re finished!
Super Easy!
I hope you all join me on Sunday! Have a great weekend!
