I'm pretty excited about this post! It's been a long time coming. Shortly after moving into our house eight years ago, we purchased a nice glass table and chair set. I regretted that purchase almost immediately! Glass table + busy family = constant, smudgy mess. This table has been wiped down at least 1,000,000 times. It's almost uncanny how quickly this thing gets dirty. I'll wipe it down so it's spotless, walk into the next room, come back and see that some poltergeist ran smeary ... VIEW POST

Farmhouse Decoupaged Sewing Cabinet
Guess what today is? It's Themed Furniture Makeover Day! If you're new here, it's where my blogging buddies and I share our furniture makeovers with a monthly theme. This month's theme is Farmhouse. With all of the furniture makeovers that I do, the pieces I keep tend to be a bit more on the glamorous side, with lots of carving like my vintage buffet and my turquoise dining set. I know with Fixer Upper taking over the world, simple pieces are definitely trending. When I received this ... VIEW POST
25 Shades of Blue
Well we all know that 50 Shades of Grey is taking theaters by storm. Since that is not really what my blog is about (ain't nobody want to see that!), I'm doing my own spin with 25 Shades of Blue. If you follow my blog, you know that I am obsessed with two things: furniture makeovers and different shades of the color blue. I have it everywhere. It's the color on my walls, my Christmas ornaments, my chandelier, my furniture pieces, and so on. When I first started my furniture booth, I went ... VIEW POST
How to Stain Your Deck the Easy Way (and a HomeRight Giveaway)
We have lived in our house for over 9 years. Since we bought new, we're approaching that time where things around the home start showing some age. The carpet starts looking ratty, the outside of the house needs a fresh coat, you have nicks on your walls, and appliances start going downhill. For the last year, we knew we needed to stain our deck, but we kept putting it off since it's not the most fun thing in the world to do, and it is totally time consuming. We were feeling like we were ... VIEW POST
Why Ya Gotta Be So Mean? (and a Wine Cork Bulletin Board)
You know how in high school there was always a group of mean kids? The ones that picked on people for no reason in particular, other than just being hateful? It could be over the smallest things: the way someone wore their hair that day, or that they didn't have the coolest shoes on, or just the fact that the person was too tall, short, skinny or fat. Making others feel bad made them feel good. Well, I hate to say that ... some people just never grow out of that bullying phase. You all ... VIEW POST
Plaster Painted Vintage Chair
Do you ever have days where you have a million errands to run, but you don't do them because it would require you to put on real clothes and makeup? Yeah that was me yesterday. So now I have even more errands to run since I was too lazy to pull myself together. One of the reasons I had to get going today was to get my haircut. Don't you love having someone else do it for you? If I won the lottery, I would pay my hairstylist (Casey at Shine Salon in case you were wondering) a ridiculous ... VIEW POST
Ivory Buffet Makeover
I'm so excited! There has been warmth in Kansas for the last two days! The pups have been out burning off some energy, and Charlie has planted himself in a sunny spot in the backyard and is refusing to come back in. I have been back into the furniture projects full force lately with my turquoise dining set, the piece you will be seeing tomorrow at DebbieDoo's, and the piece down below. My finger nails are gone, my skin is raw and my shoulders are killing me but I am happy with the end ... VIEW POST
