Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow

Happy Monday everyone!  I’m wishing all of you who are snowed in warm thoughts today!

Well, my weekend was not as productive as I had hoped. I had a nasty virus and was having fun with a high fever, chills and massive achiness. Am I the only one who has crazy weird dreams when they are running a high fever? Just wondering.

I am feeling somewhat more human today. I managed enough energy to buy a great antique dresser yesterday that I am super excited about. It needs quite a bit of work, but I think it will be fabulous once it is finished. Since I am now behind on the projects I was supposed to work on this weekend, I will have a busy week ahead of me.

The child who wishes to remain anonymous had a great Homecoming cheer routine on Friday night. It was four minutes of dangerous stunts and cool dance moves (I think she gets that from me).

Her team worked super hard and endured months of black eyes, pulled muscles, a couple of concussions, a handful of bloody noses and pain from either being dropped or having someone dropped on you. Let alone the 6:00AM practices which weren’t fun for either the girls or the parents that had to drive them (who may or may not have been driving in their bright yellow PJ’s and praying that they didn’t get pulled over).

Speaking of yellow, this is my newest fun little end table/nightstand (featuring a Wallpaper Press Lamp). Sadly, I got in a hurry and forgot to take a before picture (and I had been doing so well on that for quite a while, sigh). It was a bit roughed up and dirty. I cleaned her up and painted her with some cheerful yellow chalkpaint, distressed it, repainted the hardware, and coated it in clear wax.

I will be putting it up for sale tomorrow.
